Thunder Hawk boys take on Dawson/Boyd

Last Friday the Thunder Hawk boys varsity basketball team traveled to Dawson to take on the Blackjacks for a 68-78 loss. Leaders in the game included Mason Jerve who scored 27 points with seven rebounds, and two steals, while Devin Ashling added another 14 points with two assists to the team total. One-man show to perform downtown February 24th

MG Bailey, whose first name is Matthew, will be visiting Montevideo to play his live, one-manband music at Talking Waters Brewing Company downtown on Friday, February 24th. Bailey, who hails from Homewood, Illinois, says he was first introduced to playing music as a kid when he was playing saxophone in the school band.

Live Well, Age Wisely

Countryside Public Health serves the same five counties as Prairie Five (Big Stone, Chippewa, Lac qui Parle, Swift and Yellow Medicine) and we are so lucky to have them in our region. I’ve gone to them for different vaccines and boosters, sampled produce from a community garden they supported, and enjoyed the sights on one of the walks they developed.

Minnesota comedian to perform downtown this weekend

This weekend, Minnesota comedian Connor Hangsleben will be performing at Talking Waters Brewing Co in downtown Montevideo. Hangsleben, who was raised in Monticello says this will be his second trip to Montevideo. “I mean, I had a swim meet in Montevideo when I was a freshman in High School,” he jokes.
