DNR certifies a state record hybrid sunfish

An angler caught a one pound 12-ounce hybrid sunfish from Green Lake in Kandiyohi County that the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has certified as tying the weightbased state record. The record fish’s weight ties that of a hybrid sunfish caught from the Zumbro River in 1994.

USDA Launches Loan Assistance Tool to enhance equity and customer service

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) launched a new online tool to help farmers and ranchers better navigate the farm loan application process. This uniform application process will help to ensure all farm loan applicants receive equal support and have a consistent customer experience with USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) regardless of their individual circumstances.

Cold front pushes through for the weekend

We all think back to the Halloween Blizzard of 1991 here in Minnesota where snow and ice fell and impacted the fun for the trick-or-treaters. That event is now 31 years-ago, so most of those trick-or-treaters are now near 40-yearsold or older!

Montevideo author to mentor 4-H aspiring writers statewide

Montevideo author to mentor 4-H aspiring writers statewide Now in it’s third year, the 4-H Young Writers Club is joined by Montevideo author M E Fuller as a mentor to the young aspiring authors participating in the program. The youth will be participating in the NaNoWriMo challenge, which is designed to challenge young writers in grades six and up to write an entire novel in a month through November.
