Vicar of Healing Waters Lutheran Parish, Lutheran Seminary Student Psalm 121 - 1I lift up my eyes to the hills; from where is my help to come? 2My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth. 3The Lord will not let your foot be moved nor will the one who watches over you fall asleep.

Prairie Notebook

It was a slab of plaster in a glass case at a gas station in northern California where I saw my first “proof” of the existence of a cryptid an animal that has been claimed to exist but never proven so. The casting was of a really big foot - BIGFOOT! Yessiree! - Sasquatch himself! Legendary cryptid beasts exist around the world, from Mongolian Death Worms to ‘Nessy’ to Mexico’s Chupacabra.

CherryRoad Media Election-related Letters to the Editor Policy

• All letters from candidates, letters endorsing a candidate or opposing a candidate, letters about candidates, and letters that urge people to vote for a particular candidate or a certain way on a ballot question, will be published as a Paid Election Letter. A charge of $30 will be required for all Paid Election Letters. Charging for Paid Election Letters provides accountability for candidates and campaigns and limits campaigns from taking advantage of “free” advertising space on the Opinion Page. Mental illnesses, discrimination and support in Minnesota

Mental Illness Awareness Week (MIAW) is October 3-8. It’s a time to raise awareness of mental illnesses, fight discrimination, and provide support to people whose lives have been impacted. This year it takes on significant importance because so many people are experiencing poor mental health due to the impact of the pandemic. Anxiety and depression have increased dramatically. We can see the angst in our community - people with short tempers or who are easily frustrated.
