Cindy Klinghagen, 65, of Clara City passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022, at the St. Cloud Hospital. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 11 at 10:30 a.m. at Bethany Reformed Church. Visitation was held Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bethany Reformed Church and continued one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Lamore “Lem” & Pauline Kittelson

Lamore “Lem” Kittelson, of Montevideo died Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 96. Pauline Kittelson, Montevideo died on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 92. Memorial services will be held May 14, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Rev. Donald S. Mckee will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Colleen Hinrichs

Colleen Hinrichs, 80, of Montevideo passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022, at the St. Cloud Hospital. A Memorial Service will take place Monday, May 16, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Interment will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Clara City. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 4 - 6 p.m. with a prayer service at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Tamera “Tammy” Lynn (Johnson) Berg

Tamera “Tammy” Lynn (Johnson) Berg, 55, of Clarkfield passed away peacefully at the St. Cloud Hospital on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, after a brain hemorrhage took her much too soon. She was surrounded by her husband, daughters, parents, sister, nieces, and grandson, as well as the hopes and prayers of so many who loved her.

On behalf of the Class of 2023 and the Junior Class parents, we would like to thank the many groups and organizations that help make Daybreak 2022 fun and successful! THANK YOU to the businesses, individuals, and organizations who so generously contributed to the success of this post-prom gathering. Due to the great people in our community, we were able to provide a fun and safe environment for our young people after prom. Our goal is to keep kids safe on one of the most memorable nights of their high school years.

Our own hidden landscape

I just returned from two weeks in the Columbia Gorge region along the Washington/Oregon border. The deep basaltic canyons and towering buttresses above the river, the lushness of the high meadows and the vistas to distant snow-capped volcanic peaks all left me in awe at such incredible landscapes. The geology of a region speaks of its formation in both subtle and grandiose ways.

Ag Plus Cooperative invests in United Way of Southwest Minnesota

United Way of Southwest Minnesota Ag Plus Cooperative staff held their second annual soup/chili cook-off over three days’ time in their Canby, Ghent and Marshall locations to benefit United Way of Southwest Minnesota (UWSWMN). This year’s options included wild rice soup, cheeseburger soup, chili and grilled cheese sandwiches, or Irish stew.

High School Rodeo held in Granite Falls

The Minnesota High School Rodeo Association held their Region Four Rodeo at Lee Mar Ranch Saturday and Sunday. The Region Four Rodeo featured junior high and high school students from around the state, including Wood Lake and Montevideo riders. Events included barrel racing, bull riding, steer wrestling, chute dogging, calf roping, breakaway roping, and more.
