Thunder Hawks baseball team defeats Benson in double header
On Tuesday evening, the Thunder Hawk boys played a double-header against Benson at home for a victory in both games. Game one ended with a score of 10-0.

Michael Brockman took the lead to start the Pure Stock feature. Alex Grinager took the lead on lap four.

Tennis team takes on Minnewaska
The Thunder Hawk boys basketball team took on Minnewaska last Tuesday for a 0-7 loss. Scoring from that match follows: Singles Tyson Quigley vs Tate Reichmann (MW) 0-6, 0-6; Andrew Soden vs Gannon Walsh (MW) 0-6, 0-6; Talan Brock vs Ethan Quelle (MW) 0-6, 0-6; Kyle Canatsey vs Connor Quelle 3-6, 1-6.
Golf team takes part in Morris Invitational
The Thunder Hawk Golf teams traveled to the Pomme De Terre Golf Club in Morris for the Morris/CA Invitational. The boys team finished in 7th place with a score of 199.

Summer-like weather this week
So many people have been commenting to me this past week, that “we have gone from winter-like weather right into summer-like weather!” We have seen warmer temperatures and even some thunderstorms along the way across the state over the past week. These warmer temperatures and windy conditions have helped to dry things out a bit for the farmers, but it has also created some wildfire concerns.

News from Milan
Well. I think we had one morning with little wind. And then it comes back with a vengeance. Saturday there was beautiful sunshine, but the winds were gross. It was Prom Day at LQPV HIgh School. Elizabeth had her hair prettied up and they must have used a ton of hair spray and a zillion pins holding it together. Even with several outdoor pictures, she looked beautiful for Grand March. I’m glad that the rain held off until late in the evening.
Woodland Centers hosts Suicide Prevention Awareness walk in Montevideo
On Saturday, May 21st, Woodland Centers is hosting their annual Suicide Prevention Awareness walk at Smith Park in Montevideo. The event has been held since 2015, with the exception of one year due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Memory Care Corner: Proactive or Reactive?
Last week I attended our Parkinson’s Support group meeting and we had a speaker give a presentation on scams and fraud. Even though I have never been a victim of a scam (at least to my knowledge!), it was great information and very eye-opening.
