Faith Column: “Father, Forgive Them”
Jesus begins the lonely hours on the cross. He wears the sharp crown of thorns, which cut his head deeply. He feels the pain of the open wounds from the nails. Jesus, our Savior, does not think of himself at this moment. He is thinking of everyone else. His pain is not the issue - love is. Love is revealed in his words of compassion, mercy and grace. Jesus called out to the Father and prayed for us. “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”
