Marlys Hoiland, 82, of Benson died on Sunday morning March 20, 2022, at her home in Benson. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at The Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson at 1 p.m., followed by visitation from 1:30 to 5 p.m. Burial will be at a later date in the Buffalo Lake Lutheran Church cemetery.

Oh, I could get used to this wonderful sunshine with only a slight breeze. There is hope that we will have green grass and flowers again. For a little while, I had my doubts. Of course, we have to go through the wet, muddy phase. But, if you are able to pick where you walk, it’s not too bad. I considered getting my rain boots out, but I thought my feet would get too cold in them.

My 44th birthday was at the end of December and I remember waking up and thinking, “Wow, I am middle-aged. If I have half of my life left, how do I want to spend it? What should I be doing with my time?” It is easy to look at others, make comparisons, and start wondering if I’ve done enough or if it’s good enough.

Thunder Hawks Math Team competes at State
Our Montevideo Math Team has closed out a very successful season. During the season, Montevideo took home the top team score in Section 3A, which had 6 teams. Monte finished the season with 268 team points. New London-Spicer finished second with 246 points, while Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City finished 3rd with 227 points, MACCRAY had 145, BOLD 133, and Lakeview 84.
