I know many of you loved the weather over the weekend and earlier this week! The conservation at church on Sunday certainly was the weather and the beautiful conditions that we are experiencing after the brutally cold spell.

University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) announces Dean’s List

The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) has announced its Dean’s List for Fall Semester 2024. Students on the Dean’s List have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher while earning a minimum of 12 letter-graded credits.

Minnesota DNR proposes bear permit area boundary revisions

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is recommending changes to several bear permit area boundaries based on input from wildlife managers and Tribal requests, as well as an effort to align boundaries with consistent landscapes such as the edges between forested and agricultural lands, and reduce agricultural conflicts.

American Legion National Commander to speak in Granite Falls on March 28

American Legion National Commander James A. LaCoursiere Jr. of Connecticut is coming to Granite Falls and will speak on issues of importance to Minnesota veterans. LaCoursiere is strongly committed to raising awareness for The American Legion’s “Be the One” efforts to prevent veteran suicide.

Montevideo FFA plans pancake feed

The Montevideo Future Farmers of America (FFA) group has been preparing for National FFA Week, February 15th through the 22nd. The week is celebrated throughout the nation each year with FFA Chapters using the time to share what FFA is and what impact the organization has on its members.

Montevideo choir students attend state choir

Last weekend, the Montevideo Schools Choir Program was well represented at State Honor Choirs. Semisi Paongo, senior, sang into the All-State mixed choir. Brittney Quintanilla and Patrick Baukol, both sophomores, sang in the 9-10th grade ACDA State Honor Choirs.
