I’m notoriously bad at booking hotel rooms, Air BNBs and all things related. It’s become rather like a running joke in my family at this point that no matter how hard I try to read reviews, etc, there is always something that I manage to mess up.

One Act Play takes third place
The Montevideo High School One Act Play group performed last Saturday at the sub-section competition. MHS One Act Play placed 3rd and were one point from qualifying for section.

Garrison Keillor & Friends: A wonderful night in Lubbock…
I got to spend last week in California, seeing people, doing things, from Irvine up to Sacramento, and people kept trying to get me to go with them to vineyards, though I no longer imbibe. I used to and then about 25 years ago I stopped. I am capable of idiocy on my own without adding intoxication to it. And I had a two-year-old daughter and I didn’t want her to see me drunk. She and I love silliness, which is a whole other matter.

Students represent program at state conference
Last week, Montevideo High School Seniors, Teagan Epema and Sam Knoop along with Career Coordinator, Kati Birhanzl represented the Montevideo Medical Academy program at the LYFT’n Up Career ConneCTEd Excellence in SW/WC Minnesota Conference. The students shared about their experience and how the program impacted their future career decisions.

MHS seniors sing at Dorian Vocal Festival
Last week, three of the Montevideo High School seniors sang in the Dorian Vocal Festival with almost a thousand other juniors and seniors from around the Midwest. Additionally, the students got to experience a voice lesson with a college professor. Two also received honorable mentions in the solo competition.
